America's Army 3 is FREE to D/L and play on Steam if anyone wants it. I'm down loading it now. ;D

Does the game still make you go thru real-army boot camp before you can do anything fun? The last version I played made you go thru a long and incredibly boring boot camp just to "advance" to piddly training missions.
It took weeks to do anything remotely similar to what you can just jump into CSS and do right away.
Not to mention the real-life army recruiters who start calling if you're actually good. Not a problem I ever faced.

The recruiters story may be an urban legend. But making you shoot a few thousand fake rounds from the fake prone position at fake targets for real days on end before letting you advance to a fake kneeling postion, etc. etc. was mind-numbingly real. I gave up quickly.
The game is free because the Army uses it as a recruiting tool, though.

I played it for about 30 min yesterday. You can forgo the training, but most of your weaponry will not be unlocked. If you want a life in the army you might like it. 4 sure it is a recruiting tool. SIGN ME UP!
